Project Overview

While basic recordable voice boxes are common in toys, gifts, and DIY projects, user feedback consistently highlighted frustration with compressed, low-fidelity recordings—even when using the device’s maximum sampling settings. To address this, we integrated a USB-C connectivity feature that lets users directly transfer high-quality MP3/WAV files from a computer to the module’s 4MB internal memory or customize the memory size to 16M,32M,64M,128M,1G and so on.

This upgrade preserves the original audio clarity (e.g., for custom music, voice messages, or sound effects) that built-in recording cannot match. The device retains core functionality: a push-button playback trigger, integrated speaker, and compact ABS plastic casing (ideal for plush toys, soft toys, or personalized gifts).

Client Objectives

The product needs to be operable (playback trigger) without difficulty when enclosed inside soft, thick plush toy fabric (common in gift/toy use cases).

Our Solution

Besides the module’s limiting built-in recorder recordable we add the USB-C port for direct transfer of unaltered MP3/WAV files (preserving original audio clarity, paired with optimized speaker/amplifier tuning to enhance output quality), while redesigning the playback trigger into a raised, 8mm rigid tactile button with a reduced 150g actuation force and reinforced backing, ensuring reliable, easy activation even through thick (up to 2cm) plush toy fabric—all while retaining the module’s compact form factor to fit seamlessly into existing toy/gift use cases.

Customizable Recording Time: The recorder allows for flexible recording lengths, including 30s, 60s, 90s, 10 minutes, or more, to suit different needs.

Customizable Memory Size of the Module:The memory size can be customized with 16M,32M,64M,128M,1G.

Lock Function: A locking mechanism prevents accidental deletion of recordings. This feature adds a layer of security by ensuring the recorded messages are not erased unintentionally.

Easy-to-Press Button: The large, child-friendly button design makes it easy to press, even when the module is embedded within a plush toy, ensuring it is accessible and user-friendly.

OVP Protection: Equipped with Overvoltage Protection to safeguard the device during charging, ensuring safety and durability.
